Xenharmonic Music

Did you know that just about every last piece of music you’ve ever heard is written with the same twelve notes, repeated in different octaves? There are plenty of combinations. But what happens when you explore frequencies outside of those twelve notes?

Microtonal tunings.

This wiki is a great resource to learn about different tunings – because there are many different alternate tunings available. One of the albums I recently heard which employed microtonal tunings is King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard’s Flying Microtonal Banana. The Xenharmonic Wiki also contains a huge list of Bandcamp and Spotify links if you would like to explore further.
