Gaming on Linux, 2023: Part II

just going to write a quick follow up here because I’m vibing with how well everything is running on Debian 12.

I didn’t even realize when I wrote that post yesterday that Steam has a whole Proton compatibility layer built into the Linux client which helps non-native games run. So that comment about half of my game library being gone, is more like 10% of my library is unplayable. There is a site called ProtonDB that tracks how well things work, and a lot of what I enjoy playing is at least “silver” status or higher.

Couple that with the Steam Remote Play feature I’ve been experimenting with lately, and there is nowhere I can’t game.
